Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Just finished watching the last episode of season 5.  Wow.  I hear rumor that seasons 6 and 7 aren’t as good, which is sad (but those of you that know anything created by Joss Whedon, even his weakest work beats most everything else out there…).

We’d watched the entire Angel series on DVD, got addicted to Joss Whedon and then jumped on the Firefly/Serenity bandwagon.  So going back to watch the Buffy series wasn’t much of a stretch.

If you’ve never watched it or any Whedon, I’d recommend it fervently. 

Couple episodes in particular blew my mind.   One from season 4 called Hush (some of the most awesome creepy visuals/characters ever + great premise/comedy) and  in season 5 an episode called “The Body” which is amazing/suffocating portrayal of the death of a close family member (an amazing achievement as far as I am concerned – was visceral and you felt completely spent after watching it).

Great TV.  Great storytelling.
